I can only speak for myself. We were told all during school..take the NCLEX as soon as possible after graduation. It was drilled into our heads from the start, that the sooner you take it after graduating, the better.
I took my NCLEX-PN less than a week after graduation. The majority of my schoolmates also took it within a month of graduation (most wanted an earlier date but due to the time of year, lots of graduation, many were not able to test as soon as they would have liked. They all passed. Those that waited..and waited..and waited..i know 3 of them did not pass the NCLEX. Thats not to say people who wait WILL fail..
And when the time comes to do my NCLEX-RN you can bet I'll be scheduling it for as soon as possible after getting my ATT.

Nobody is ever ready. Think about how prepared you feel without studying and give yourself a reasonable amount of time for you to get ready. Most people study for three weeks to three months. Good luck.
