I feel like this could induce some insightful answers. So have it. What do you wish you knew about your job/field/specialty before you became a full-fledged employed nurse?

I don't know that this has to do with my specialty, but more the unit I'm on. I applied to a Tele. position. Unbeknownst to me the unit is more of a ICU step-down/Cardiovascular Intervention unit. I'm just not sure I was prepared for the level of acutiy that is here especially considering that isn't taken into an account with staffing.

-How attached you get to some of the chronic patients and how hard it is to see them go; and think of what you could have done differently for them and how you should have been there for them differently/better.
