Hi there,
I've had a series of jobs (telemedicine, clinic nurse, infusion nurse), but never a job in a hospital. What would be a good/recommendable start for me in the world of the hospital? I want to become a skilled nurse, immersed in tasks like catheterizations, wound care, all of that good stuff but don't know what would be a good kick for it. Any recommendations would help greatly. Thank you.
@TheSquire thank you so much for the uplifting message, this gives me so much hope! i think you're absolutely right, a new student has to work absolutely hard but if a unit is sinking/shows a horrible attitude, that student will most likely sink. but thank you for giving me the hope of trying. ❤️

I have said it many times, but I'll repeat it - a nurse new to bedside nursing can start in any unit, as long as the education process and unit culture on the unit are set up to support new grads (which you're effectively coming in as). If the unit is openly hostile to new grads, you will fail. Go where you want.
