What's the best job site you've used

I'm not putting all my eggs into one basket, no matter the appeal of the current prospect. I've got to try to get out of where I am faster than planned.

Which sites to find give the best results? Indeed, Yahoo hotjobs, monster? Are there others?

Also, what search words to you put in for RN. It seems you can put RN regsistered nurse, or nurse registered nurse and other variations, each one seems to pull a different number of results and many have zip to do with nursing! So I think I gotta be doing something wrong.

Any other qualifiers that you can think of that would pull more results? Such as something for the health dept. I've noticed in the past adding educators brings up different things too. Thanks.

hi,

i have used indeed, craigslist, monster and careebuilder. also what i ddid was a google search. i typed in the town and nearby towns and cities i was willingto travel to, the i searched hospitals and clinics ect. i went to those specific hospital and clinic websites and applied on their website or emailed them directly regarding their open positions.

i now have a start date in a few weeks, and i'm very excited to get my foot in the door :yeah: after 2 years of searching:uhoh3: in anything heathcare releated.:yeah::D

Good Luck :)

The best way that I've found is to go to the hospital's website and look at their career section. Most search engines seem to list agencies, rather than actual jobs. If you're not sure of all of the hospitals in the area, wikipedia the town or city, or search for hospitals on Google maps.

Try indeed.com or simplyhired.com or careerbuilders.com

I also go directly to hospital websites, many times they have jobs posted that do not show up in other search sites. You could also do a google search, what I do is put "LPN jobs in " (put the city or State you are looking for)

Like you said, you have to be creative when putting in the job..it can be RN, registered nurse or simply nurse. I put it (LPN) in several different ways and most times find positions that pop up under simply putting LPN

True enough about the hospitals, even the outpatient positions pop up there.

What about clinics? Such as dialysis clincs or other stand alone outpatient ones...where do they advertise? How do you find out about the doctor's office positions? Seems crazy to have to call each individual practice or doctor groups to find if they're hiring.

AuraofLaura so true about the agencies! I do find tons of Kindreds and PSA's and I've heard I don't want to go there! I just wish I felt I had the luxury of patience. I can't stand the fact I need to get out of where I am ASAP. Life's too short to hate your job.

Thanks!

I like indeed.com, also check out America's Job Bank Transition - Job Bank Information

, you pick the state you are interested in from the map, and you are taken to a site to search for jobs listed with the unemployment office in that state. You can search by specific jobs, and put in a city or zip code and search within different amount of miles from that spot.

Good luck,

Mike

Craigslist. Handsdown best site ever. I've found three excellent full time jobs on craigslist as well as a couple of random little temp jobs that were kind of fun. I've never had a bad experience with scams or anything. Also if I know where I want to work, I just go straight to the employer's website or contact their HR department. Best of luck to you!
