Guess it depends on the facility. The PRN's I use are basically used as a fill in for the shifts throughout the month that the full time nurses requested off. Some weeks they may have full time hours and other weeks they do not. I usually ask my prn nurses to also request days they need off for the following month so I know when I can't use them. No benefits where I'm at......but like I said it really depends on the facility....

I have an interview tomorrow morning for a PRN position. I've never worked PRN and was wondering what it was like. I'd love to know the positives and negatives. I have worked FLEXI before and really loved the flexibility. I am just getting back to work after a 5-year break. Thanks for your input!
