Yes, sorry I guess I posted it on another post I had made. I finally received my letter on 7/26/18. The last 2 weeks were hell..... i literally broke down the night before i found out bc going through that for so long was quite overwhelming, to say the least. If i wouldn't have been approved for removing the probation status, I would have seriously considered giving nursing up. That's how done with the board I was!! Life has been amazing this last month though, nothing nagging me over my shoulder constantly!!! It is worth it in the end to get to do what i love most!!

I have an issue w diluted urine. Try to go as early as possible....(like only your second urine of the day) mine was bc of drinking alot of caffeine (I mean that's all I drink....diet coke). Anyway if I forgot for some reason in the morning to check In and I had to go in the afternoon i would immediately pee after finding out that i had to go....then not drink anything but sips of water and go about 1 &1/2 hours later. I had trouble peeing when i did that one time in 7 years. They would never tell us if ours were positive negative or dilute.....but after research with the testing company I found out they retested me after each dilute...(like a second chance) so I always knew when I had one bc 2 days later I had to test again. I had 4 of them after looking back and it freaked me out bc I know other nurses that gott time added to their discipline for it. So I started checking first thing in the morning and I would be there the minute the place opened.

I surrendered my license instead of having suspension. I was on probation, got in trouble for noncompliance (since I was unable to meet the terms of my agreement r/t my high risk pregnancy). The agreement was 1 year suspension which meant i couldn't work but still had to do everything like drug testing, pay fines, meetings and classes etc. Since I was not able to do that I surrendered. Once you surrender you cant get it back for 1 year. (Or whatever the length of time they tell you) once that time is up, you send a request to have your license reinstated. (They told me that would take up to 6 weeks which turned into over a year) still worth it though, as I couldn't comply with susoension) once your license is reinstated you will have a new consent agreement with probation. To me, it was worth it bc being noncompliant again would have cost me alot more I'm sure. While you're license is surrendered you obviously cant work as a nurse, but you also dont have to do anything for the board.....ANYTHING!! it takes the place if suspension and doesn't cost you a dime.

Definition of index finger is the finger next to the thumb, the first finger, or forefinger. I've never heard the middle finger referred to as the index finger.

It all makes me crazy too!! Now I'm done with my 3 final years...supposed to be anyway. I had to send in a request to have my probation status removed from my license. A week later I emailed them and asked if they received my letter and what the status was at that time. They said they didnt receive my May employer report and I need to send it ASAP. (I did send it, along with the post office receipt where I mailed it may 17th and the confirmation that it was received. And haven't heard anything since. They wont tell you anything if you call. I'm so ready to be done with this bs. And i had to test twice last week....so that's 178 additional dollars that could have been saved had i got my letter to remove probation status. But here I am still waiting. The 3 years went by faster than I thought. The worst part has been these last few weeks. Fly under the radar and do everything they tell u to do, nothing more nothing less. This monitoring thing is like going in the negative at the bank....once u do it you get sucked in and one mess up it gets worse. Dont let that happen!!! Do it right the first time! And save any bit of money u can, you will need it bc they will suck it out of u!!

I completely understand the frustration. In my state, we didnt have an alternative to discipline when I started over 7 years ago...but they did tell us that if you self report they will be more lenient. So I self reported in 2011 for being addicted to pain meds. I never took any that weren't prescribed to me. But i recognized i had a problem so i turned myself in and went to rehab. Got 3 years, couldn't comply r/t complicated pregnancy so had to start the 3 years over again...(no credit for the 2 years i already did) but then i see nurses that actually harmed patients and they get a letter of reprimand. Or someone that diverts and has no scripts get 1 year. Or the positive meth nurse that gets 1 year. A nurse can give a patient 80 units of insulin to the wrong pt and try to cover it up and deny it until cameras prove they did it and they get a letter of reprimand. I understand we all make errors but this resulted in injury to this pt and the nurse tried to deny it. A slap on the wrist. Another nurse was told her pt was having respiratory distress....she did nothing, sat at the desk. The aides finally told another nurse and the pt was sent to the er and intubated. All on camera......letter of reprimand. A nurse mad at her coworkers and employer so she decides to permanently delete pt files from computer and shred paper charts.....all on camera.....letter of reprimand. Non of it makes sense but they have received more than 9000 dollars from me just in testing alone not including the 3000 civil penalty.

Still waiting!! Everyday feels like a year. Have no idea when I will get my letter. I keep checking online like every 5 minutes bc I figure it will change there before I get my letter! Ugh! I'm so impatient! It's kinda driving me mad. (Along w everyone around me)

I'll let you all know next time I hear anything! Still just patiently waiting!! I check the website constantly bc I'm sure it will change from probation to active as soon as it goes through. Then I'll probably get my letter a couple days after that. Still keeping my fingers crossed!!

I check my license online about 70 times per day, waiting for it to change from "probation" to "active!" It feels like this is taking FOREVER!! Why does this state board have to be so dang secretive about EVERYTHING? They never give you any info about what's going on. They just say when it's done you will be notified!! Ugh!!

Dang!!! That's a good one!! They won't allow me to take my medication prescribed to me by a psychiatrist since I was a kid for ADHD. So for the first couple years i sent in research paperwork on the dangers of nurses with ADHD practicing without proper treatment. I gave that up my last year incase someone decided to actually pay attention to what i was sending with my personal report.

I totally agree. We have to fill out an entire form for every meeting we go to which asks...what was the topic...what applies to you ....and what did u learn... I'm pretty sure they don't read it. I figure all they do is count the number of pages u send in and throw it in ur file. So my # is 26. I'm required to 2 mtgs per wk. Thays 104 per year which is 26 per quarter. So that's how many they get. Every 3 months 26 pages + my personal report.

So I sent my letter to the board to have my probation status removed this month. Been dealing with them for 7years and 4 months...so ready to be done. I have done exactly everything they have asked me to do! EVERYTHING!!!! So i emailed the person that handles discipline stuff at the BON... to make sure they got my letter and what to expect now.... got an email today that says they have never received my employer report for May 2018. Which is hard to believe since I sent it in the same envelope as my personal report. I've never sent them in the same envelope before always separate....one in a big yellow envelope(personal report) and the employer report in a regular envelope stamped with my employers name and address. Well in May I was running late on turning my stuff in and I didnt want it to be late since it was my last one so I opted to send it overnight instead of just certified. Well that costs 25.00 so the guy at the post office said send both envelopes in the USPS envelope that is used for the overnight services.....I didnt want to bc I have always sent them separate.....but it would be 50.00 so that's just silly when o could put them in the same package....I mean they are going to the exact same place and person..... so they somehow received my personal report but not my employer report.....OMG!! it's like just another freaking obstacle why??? So I'm going to fax another one in the morning along with my post office receipt and a letter from my administrator (he is who does my employer reports) that states that he did do it in may and it was in fact sent with my personal report. I'm thinking it will be fine as she didnt act like I was in any trouble but you never know with the BON. So now I'm sitting here stressing over it and probably will all night!! Man I'm so sick of them. I know of nurses that got extra time for not turning in their employer report so that makes me nervous!! And a little pissed too bc I DID DO IT!! How is it my fault that the person that opened the package didnt pay attention that there were 2 envelopes in it? I really hope I'm stressing fir nothing guess well see....

Well the time is almost here I can hardly wait!! I sent the state board my "official request" for the probation status to be removed from my license! It has been a long long 7 years and 4 months (total). I have been compliant and I'm ready to stop pissing in cups all the time!! And living my ENTIRE life around the BON. They meet next week and hopefully I'll get my letter soon after that. I'm still a nervous wreck of some last minute bull crap that could come up..... it's seriously been a bunch of BS when it comes to them!!! They say "self report, it's better for you" that was BS (3 yrs probation) all bc I recognized my problem and sought help in rehab(March 2011).... got pregnant and put on strict bed rest(March 2013) .... had 2 years completed..... but since "you are unable to meet the terms of your agreement, you are non compliant" Nothing I could do. Suspension or surrender? Uhh... considering there was no way to be compliant with probation.....I certainly couldn't be compliant with suspension....so surrender (May 2013) ..."make sure you request your license back April of 2014 BC it takes 6 weeks to process" .... April 2014 request license reinstatement ..... June 2014.....2nd request.....August 2014 3rd request.......November 2014 4th request.... (they "never got the 1st 3") after all kinds of hoops to jump through licence reinstatement in July 2015.....no credit for the 2 years I already completed.....3 more years of probation!!......here we are......I'm soooooo beyond ready. Keep your fingers crossed for me please!!!
