Admit it this is you. LOL! Don't you just hate it when work calls you to come in on your day off? What do you do? What do you say?

I didn't realize it was her personal cell phone until the day I decided to call the number, thinking it went to her office line at work, and instead I reached her on vacation, out of state with her kids!!
I have to admit I did enjoy getting a little of my own back by calling a member of management on THEIR off time!
I don't mind if they call to ask during my waking hours - sometimes I'll answer and say "no I have plans/appointments/etc", other times I don't answer.
I DO mind when they call in the middle of my sleeping time to see if I'll come in, especially if it's to come in for a shift when I've already been working several shifts in a row. Ringers can be turned off, but I don't really want to shut off possible communication with my out of state family, thinking about possible emergencies I'd like to be made aware of, if they were to occur.
When we don't answer they'll leave a voice mail, call right back, send a text, call restricted, call from a personal cell phone, send a Facebook message, yes Facebook and as a last resort they have actually showed up at peoples houses. I fortunately live out of town so, that hasn't happened to me. A coworker got a new phone one time and didn't give work her new # and a manager woke her up at 6am knocking on her door.
Yep, she answered the door and went to work. They didn't actually need her till that night either. It made me feel bad too because, it was me they were trying to find coverage for, I was sick. There was another guy they always went to his house, he'd come in every time they showed up. I work for a smallish company and only a few of us are full time, we have quite a few part-time nurses but, none of them will ever work extra and our prn people always seem to be mia, then complain that they don't get hours. When we call in they act like it's the end of the world too. All of our full time people only miss a day or two a year too, unless it's something serious so, an actual call in is a rarity. I wonder if they harass the nurses that never work extra like they do the ones that will. Everywhere I've ever worked we've had on call and back up on call supervisors that can come in if needed but, I swear some supervisors act like they'd die if they had to work a shift.
