What to Wear to Pinning Ceremony in WI

Hi, Everyone! My Pinning Ceremony is this Friday evening and I still don't have anything to wear!!! AHHH!!! Other than being told not to wear anything hoochey-coochey like, there are no restrictions. Alot of good that does me!

I talked to a friend who graduated last year from the same school and she said that alot of girls wore dresses(of all different lengths, styles, colors &/or prints) and others wore dress pants. One student, who was a speaker at the Pinning Ceremony, came in a T-shirt & capris!!

Several of the women in my class are planning to wear dresses. Another one is wearing gauchos & a dressy tank top and another is wearing dress capris & a top. I would prefer to wear the dressy capris & top outfit, but I'm not sure if it's appropriate. My mom wants me to wear this aquamarine & black pin-stripped pant suit that I have, but I think that's tooo business-like instead of dressy.

Any suggestions? Anyone else from Wisconsin graduating this month?

I'm from Indiana, not Wisconsin, but my class was told business casual. You know that of course was open to interpretation, and ranged from dressy gauchos to black slacks to the strapless mini dress worn by the chick whose main goal seemed to be showing off her huge dragon tattoo across her back! I wore black slacks and a dressy light blue tank with a light blue jacket, my best friend wore black dress gauchos, black heels, and a dressy red and black blouse...we were much more casual for graduation, with most people wearing cropped pants and tops, some even wore flip flops! At my school, the pinning ceremony is considered to be more solemn and our class as a whole dressed with a little more thought and care. If you are comfortable in the suit, I would say go for it! Like my mom said when I asked her what I should wear, "This isn't Easter Sunday at church...leave the cutesy dresses alone and pick something that reflects the professional that you have become." Congratulations by the way!

At my school students wear their uniforms to graduation (sans the ugly apron lol)

If it were ME and the dress requirements were like your school...I think I would wear something similar to what I might wear at a job interview. Like dalesgirl said - dress professionally. But also be comfortable... and congratulations!!! :)
