What to wear to fill our paperwork at new job?

Published

So I got my very first RN job! Woot woot! I wore a business suit to the interview but now I'm going in next week to fill out HR paperwork, background check stuff, etc. and I want some advice about what to wear. The nurses at the facility were wearing basic scrubs but I haven't gotten information about dress code yet so I don't want to dress inappropriately. I was leaning towards business casual, I figured that's safe. But I wanted to know what your thoughts are.

Specializes in Emergency Department.

I wore business casual. The girl next to me (also a new grad filling out the same paperwork) wore a black t shirt & jean cut offs. Yes with the dangly thready denim material hanging off the hem. I cringed.

Assless chaps.

Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. A nice skirt, closed toe shoes with heels, bright top.

Congrats on your first job as an RN!
