What do i use to carry all my books in??

Published

:nuke:Hello all!!!

I'll be starting nursing school very soon and need to find a new bag to carry my books in. As you all know these books tend to be big and heavy, so I'll need something strong and sturdy. I'm very feminine so I'd like something semi-stylish (I actually dislike backpacks but if thats the only option I guess I'll have to give it a try)...i was looking into a large tote, but before i buy something I was wondering what everyone else uses.

Thanks for your help!!!

One of my friends kept several of those milk crate styled storage bins in her back seat and trunk of her car. Each had its own contents. She would go back and forth to her car, as needed, to get the stuff she needed for each class, using a backpack. The books are much too heavy to carry all of them, everywhere, every day. However, this person was very lucky to have been given a handicapped placard for parking her car and parked her car near the building that housed the nursing dept. Parking was horrendous at this school. Several of my classmates just refused to tote their texts to class and I don't blame them. I hurt my back, had to see a physical therapist, and even had to drop out of school waiting for my back to heal, and found out that one of the reasons was lugging those heavy books around in my backpack. The physical therapist told me to stop carrying all my books when I went back to school. So make sure you don't carry around any more than you absolutely have to.

I would suggest using a roll on back pack. This is very useful and won't hurt your back. Take whatever you need for that day. I would suggest buying a little bigger one, so that you can fit in lot more stuff.

Hope this helps!

I agree there is no way to carry them all at once!! I am also a feminine girl and I am a big fan of the vera bradley bags! They worked good for me during my LPN program and they have one now called the super tote and its HUGE!!!

When I started my first semester I was 5mo pregnant with my son. I did not want to carry all of those books, so I bought one of those backpacks with wheels at Wal-mart for around 30 $. What an investment !!!

I recommend them to anyone with a heavy lode and as a bonus they take the strain off your back

I am starting my nursing courses in August and I and some friends all bought those rolling bags from our bookstore. Mine was $28.95 and purple and really cute. Plenty of room for all sorts of stuff and it has a big extendable strap on the top so I bought a nursing bag to strap to the top to hold extras and stuff like my stethoscope, BP cuff, things like that and some healthy snacks.

I tried using a large shoulder-strap bag over the summer but even with only one book, notebook, and binder, it was cumbersome.
