What types of volunteer work does a prenursing student need ?

Hi all! I had posted this question because I'm in need of a volunteering experience. I had met with my counselor at school who tells me I can only volunteer at a hospital setting. Though I only know volunteering at the hospital helps, would volunteering or working at a clinic help me ?

Is volunteer experience counted for anything when applying to nursing programs where you are? If so, you might contact the nursing department there to ask them for their input. This is one of those things that varies so much from one school to another, so it's important to know what THEY are looking for. :)
