Hi Everyone,
I have some questions about Tier 2 visa in UK ? I was looking at the website and found Tier 2 visa for skilled nurses. I am about to graduate my degree from USA (Masters in Gerontology). can I apply for this visa to work in UK? Does anyone have any ideas about these visa? I did not find the english requirement too..where should I look all of these and the process. Please help me.

You have to obtain a British nursing license first from the NMC (nursing and midwifery council). That's where you have to take the IELTS, unless you were trained somewhere in the EU. It can take quite a few months to get and it's a bit pokey as they advertise that you need 2000+ or so hours from your nursing clinicals which most American BSNs do not have in order to be eligible. Other nurses on here have reported that they have been able to obtain the license despite this, but accelerated BSNs and ADNs don't qualify...

tier 2 is the visa you come under but generally you need a uk employer
before you apply under tier 2 (general), you must have:
* a sponsor; and
* a valid certificate of sponsorship.
