I'm a new nurse and LOVE working at TGH!! For new GNs or nursing students, contact Nurse Recruiting (a part of HR). From personal experience, I've always found they're very helpful to new nurses and nursing students. Hiring freezes happen at all hospitals some time or another, a lot of the time you just don't hear about it. So...if you get the "hiring freeze" answer from Nurse Recruiting, be persistent. It's a great place to work.

Would you recommend the Critical Care 6 month Internship at TGH? I was told by HR that they are not hiring new grads but if I get this internship I will have 6 months of experience. As a new grad will they not hire you in the ICU? I will be relocating there from Ohio when I graduate in December and I'm looking for the best experience possible. How is the new grad pay? Does the internship pay the same as you will be paid once you accept a position?

How do I find your post?, I'm not all too familiar with allnurses & can't figure out how to get to it. Did you get into the Critical Care Internship?, I applied for that a couple weeks ago but have not heard anything back from them yet, probably full???

Hello there!

I will graduate next year, it is long I know. but I'd like to ask you if they hire NG in ICU or I have to go through med-surge to get to ICU. I want to go to ICU and I need to do it for my future education.

They have a Critical Care internship that is FABULOUS. You should call and find out when they will be hiring for it around that time. Other than that I'm not sure.

Misty1334, I know it's been awhile, but did Tampa General relocate you to Fl or did you apply once you had moved down there? Just curious. I have a phone interview today and was wondering if they consider relocation...
