What do you think of Sacramento?

Thinking of moving to sacramento? Can people recommend any hospitals? Mercy? Sutter? Which areas are nice to live?

I have worked at UCDMC for almost 3yrs (2yr as a student, 1yr RN) and I love it. There are many things to consider. I love working in a teaching facility. UCD is a level one trauma center and we receive many critically ill patients from all over Northern CA. We have access to docs 24/7. We have an awesome CNE and on my unit, there is always a Clinical Resource RN and other experienced RN's who are always willing to help. During my first year, I became certified in TNCC, ACLS, CRRT and have taken several classes offered by CNE. I have no complaints about my salary, I make a good living. There is always overtime. It depends on what type of enviroment your looking for. We have a lift team, Action RN team and great benefits. As for areas to live in. Roseville, Lincoln, and if you don't mind the drive, El Dorado County is nice. Stay away from South Sac. Elk Grove school district is overcrowded. Wilton and Rancho Murietta is nice. I have heard many good things about Mercy and Sutter. As for sponsering students, call (916)734-2011 and ask the operator for RN recruitment. Hope this helps.:specs:

THANKS ddoosier!!!! I'm happy that UCDMC sponsors and the fact that it is also a good hospital. I haven't had experience as a nurse (i just recently took my nclex) so do you think that it'll affect my employment? coz the only experience i had was during hospital duty when i was a student. Thanks again for the advice

Is it true that the hospital is staffed with many doctor residents and interns?
