Hello Everyone!
I need your input.
I'm currently taking nursing pre-requisites at Queensborough Community College in NY, and am looking into the Mount Sinai Beth Phillips School of Nursing's Accelerated BSN program. (I have a BS in Graphic Design.)
My question is: Has anyone here on allnurses graduated from this program? I know it's very new, and I would like to hear what everyone has to say about their experience there. Tell me about how intense it was, how the 15 months is broken up, and whatever else you think I should know.
I am attracted to finishing my BSN in 15 months as opposed to taking two years at Queensborough for an ADN, but I'm also worried about the pricetag. Not as steep as NYU's Accelerated program, but still pretty up there compared to public college. Your input will help me decide if it's worth it.
Plan B might be finishing at Queensborough with an ADN, by some miracle landing a nursing job with only an Associate's, working for a couple of years, and then applying to one of Stony Brook's MSN programs (which you can apply to with just an ADN as long as you have a BS/BA in some other field, but might be tougher to get into because you need to hand in a Clinical Portfolio with your application).
***Some background on what I've been able to handle in the past: I have all A's and one B for my pre-requisites thus far, and a 3.6 gpa. At one point in my graphic design career, I took 21 credits in one semester, and did fine in all except one. I feel that because of this experience, I can probably handle a heavy load- but more like 18 credits, and not 21. All the while having one, and later two small children at home. Still nervous about what I can or can't handle in nursing school. Please advise. Thanks so much!!
I literally just applied on Monday. I called nursingCAS on Monday and they said they take 2-4 weeks to review the transcripts vs the information that I inputted. After which they will submit the application to PSON. I called PSON and they said that their admissions team will be meeting on February 12 to review applications. I don't know how often admissions meet to review applications.
OKay yeah that makes sense. I had an error when they were matching up my transcripts. Hopefully they process the rest soon! Thanks for the information.
Hi Guys I recently applied at PSON, I submitted my application last month. I took the Hesi last month my score was not the best my GPA is 3.4 and I have experience as an LPN. I spoke to **** and she told me the committee will start making a decision at the end of this month, and they will not have an interviews. so basically they will just send letter out.
