So... here it is. I am waiting for my letter which is supposed to be mailed out in exactly two weeks from today. So... would it be completely insane to call and see if they would release at least the cut off GPA? Yes... I know I have waited this long, but hey if there is the possibility of finding out early why not try??? Have any of you out there done something to find out early?????????

I am also in the same situation however out letters went out today so I should know either today or tomorrow. I asked if they would give me a GPA cutoff etc...and I was told that is not the only criteria they use...they were incredibly vague and pretty much let me know I needed to wait for the letter. Our letters we supposed to have gone out over two weeks ago but for whatever reason they were delayed. I definitely can sympathize with you......just knowing either way so you can move forward. I am sure you will get in...I wish you much luck....

Thanks so much for the luck!!! Here's me sending it right back to you!!! Make sure you post back here when you get your acceptance letter! At my college they only look at GPA so if I knew the cutoff I would know if I made it. I just don't want to annoy anyone though by calling (maybe I should email the advisor????)

For Spring '06, I tried to find out the cut-off GPA & the number of non-nursing courses completed with their GPA that was used for Fall '05.

It took a good while to get the lady to understand that I wasnn't asking about Spring '06..."Yes, I understand that we are currently in that time, but I'm asking about Fall '05's cut-off GPA".... :uhoh3:

Needless to say, they weren't going to give up Spring '06's cut-off, and were reluctant to give up the previous cut-off numbers.

However.....it never hurts to try, I guess. Although, you may be one of 500 calling for that reason. It may annoy them. lol

Yep. Call them up. You have absolutely nothing to lose. Just be very professional and if it's obvious you're getting nowhere (oh, but do try!), just say, "thank you so much for your help" (even if you just want to throttle them) and hang up. No harm, no foul.

ok... so i didn't get anywhere with the school but i emailed the nursing advisor and well..... I MADE IT!!!!! this semester's cut off was 3.54 and i have a 3.67!!!!!! :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:

I'll say congrats, but contain yourself until you get that actual letter. Then celebrate for sure!!!! :balloons:

Yep! The celebrations are on hold until I receive "the letter" in the mail (even though I may indulge in a bit of champagne tonight!!) I am just relieved that I can relax and stop worrying about it every minute of the day!!! How is it that it's always the advisor that spills the beans? A friend of mine last semester found out the same way I did. And I thought that they were the one's telling everyone else not to say anything!!!

So here's to prying a bit for some much needed info!!! :biere:
