What do you do or subscribe to to stay current of nursing information?

Published

Having just recently graduated last December, I have yet to subscribe to any nursing journals. I look over my nursing notes/books when a topic comes up that I need to review. I would like to stay current of new nursing info that comes out. Any ides?:nuke:

Yeah, we both like Men in Nursing, but I agree that it doesn't really seem very gender specific... though their last issue's article about leading and management as a male in a "female" environment was really interesting (I thought.)

I'm not sure I'd pay for it, though... :)

I get AJN, Nursing2008, RN and Men in Nursing. I'm probably going to let MIN and RN expire without renewing. I really do enjoy AJN and N2008. And Lord knows I'm always in my textbooks!

:yeah:Yeah, I read my textbooks to death, also. And, I saw a newer edition of one of my older textbooks that I was thinking about ordering, because I like the way the author breaks down information, and my current book is beat to death with highlighters, sticky pads and red pen writing done in school. It is so bad that I can't read the information any longer.

I've never heard of Advance or Spectrum. Do you know offhand if they're available for students?

The Advance Magazine is available to anyone that is interested. Apply for it on the provided web site. You can get subscriptions mailed or have on line updates emailed to you. The magazine is great, because it offers regional information, so, you should see things happening such as job fairs, and other useful information in your area and mine is tri-state.

Nursing Spectrum is available for free for Registered Nurses, you have to provide your license number. I am an LPN, so, I know I can't get it for free once I place my license number on it, they'll check and see I am not an RN. But, both have nice information for no cost. I am thinking about paying for the subscription, anyhow, because I love the information provided.
