what do you learn in leadership and management

Don't know if this was for me but I'll answer anyway.

We learn about nclex prep, nclex registration, RN to BSN/MSN programs, resume and cover letter creation, and anything else related to the transition from student to RN

what do you learn in leadership and management

I haven't taken it yet but the course description says "this course teaches concepts underlying professional career development in nursing. The roles of the nurse as manager of client care, as part of a health care institution hierarchy, and as a member of a professional collective are explored."

I think it gives you the beginnings of what it's like to be the nurse manager of a floor. You'd have to get an MSN to actually do that but this class helps you understand the hierarchy in a hospital system and gives you an idea if thats something you might be interested in pursuing.

It does depend on where you end up working. My hospital is managed and directed by nurses without MSN or BSNs mostly.

I'm in Mass so they base it off of MA laws and hospital systems. Here you need a masters degree to be considered for a management role.
