Do you take A&P, microbiology, chemistry I nursing school. What are other subjects you take in nursing school such as medical surgical nursing and pharmacology and fundamentals of nursing.
what do you learn in leadership and management
I haven't taken it yet but the course description says "this course teaches concepts underlying professional career development in nursing. The roles of the nurse as manager of client care, as part of a health care institution hierarchy, and as a member of a professional collective are explored."
I think it gives you the beginnings of what it's like to be the nurse manager of a floor. You'd have to get an MSN to actually do that but this class helps you understand the hierarchy in a hospital system and gives you an idea if thats something you might be interested in pursuing.
It does depend on where you end up working. My hospital is managed and directed by nurses without MSN or BSNs mostly.
Can I ask how what does medical and surgical nursing go over.
Diseases and disorders along with their pathophysiology and how it impacts normal body function. Things like pneumonia, renal failure, myocardial infarction (heart attack), appendectomy, gallbladder stones, surgical interventions, etc. Basically it covers a ton of medical complaints and surgical interventions associated.
