Hey!
I was looking to get some input on a concern I have. I graduated a few years ago from a 4-year school is a Bachelor's in Science (Business). Did that for a bit and decided to go back for Nursing, which is something I've always wanted to do.
So I am now a CNA at a suburban hospital and got accepted into a 2 year ASN program. And I got a scholarship from the hospital I work at, they will pay for everything if I promise 2 years to them post-becoming and RN.
So thats the route I'm looking to take for now. But I do want to get into a Boston Hospital someday and maybe even management/administration. So my question is, after my ASN do I need to get my BSN then my Masters? Would that be the best? Or should I go directly for my masters, because I believe I can already having another degree. And what is the value of experience versus education?
Sorry that was a few questions I guess!!!

Mostly every 4 year college that has a nursing program has a bridge program so, that you can bridge the ASN to a masters' and bypass the bachelors. Look at some schools in your area and examine their nursing programs.

I would stick with the track you're on and see where it takes you. I've heard from many many nurses that experience is invaluable in making good career choices (as well as just in making you the best nurse you can possibly be) since you may not know exactly what you want to do until you've tried out a few areas. You can always go from RN to BSN or from RN to MSN if you need/ want to. I would go to the 2 year program and get your RN, then decide what to do from there. I'm in the same boat you are (have my B.S. in another field) and I'm going to an accelerated ADN program this spring. Just my . Good luck!
