Hello everyone. I am an RN and looking to start traveling around November of this year. I am taking my boyfriend with me (and my dog). My question is, while traveling what does your spouse/significant other do for work. He fears that only being on 13 week assignments means he would not be able to find work for that short amount of time. I know we always could take longer assignments but just checking to see what you guys think/have done in this situation. Thanks in advance!

I've been doing research for the past two years but haven't started traveling yet. My husband and I have discussed this issue as well. I think it would depend on where you choose to travel. I want to travel near areas with National Parks....such as Yellowstone, Arcadia, Grand Canyon etc. Those areas have lots of temporary jobs during their busy seasons. I've spoken to many of the temporary employees and some of them travel with the seasons. They meet up with friends and get hired at the same places every year. There are almost always temporary jobs at places like that.
Wouldn't work for everyone but you could check out areas and see what's available in those areas. I want to go North in the Spring/summer and South in the Fall/Winter. I'm lucky enough to have my permanent home near beach areas and near Assateague/ Chincoteague National Parks as well so can "travel" close to home as needed too.
Good luck and Happy Trails.....I hope to join you soon.
