What does a shadow interview entail?

Hellooo,

I completed 2 rounds of in-person interviews at a Med spa. I think I've made a great impression and was able to joke around and have a conversation with both of my interviewers. After my second interview, the manager asked if I could come back another day for a shadow interview.

I'm a new grad nurse currently working bedside, so I haven't had much experience with interviews in general.

What does a shadow interview entail? Is this good news? And What was your experience with a shadow interview?

In my one and only shadow experience when I was first starting and looking for a job as an NP, I followed an NP for a few home visits. Basically you get to see a bit into the day in a life of an employee that is doing a similar position as you. It's your chance to see if the position is right for you and get a glimpse of the job, ask questions, and make observations for yourself. I won't necessarily say it's a good sign, but I think that also depends how far you are in the interview process. Unfortunately for me, I thought it was good news that they moved forward with a shadow interview (I only had one interview prior) but it was not the case and I was not selected afterwards. Don't get our hopes too up, but stay positive, be prepared, and hope for the best. I'm currently in the final interview process with another position myself. Made it through 3 interviews so far, the recruiter first, a PA next, and I just made it past the COO. My final interview is a shadowing day with the CEO, so it seems like I'm on the right track. Wishing both you and myself good luck!
