I wrote a similiar post but I didnt know if i could switch the title so anyways...Hi, I am on the October list for Erie 1 BOCES LPN program. Orientation is September 10th. Can anyone tell me what to expect the first few weeks? How far into the program do you start clinicals and how far in advance do you know where you are going? Also I kinda dont want to wait until orientation to find out, so what kind of supplies will I need (like notebooks, binders etc..)? I hear its like everything all in one class. Like at my old college I had seperate notebooks etc for each subject. When do we get our books? Anything else I should know? Thanks!

Hi,
in PN 1 you will have classroom theory 2 days a week and clinical two days a week. The clinical is in the lab until after the first of the year when you will go to your clinical site. (This will depend on where you are attending class, E1B has many sites).
The students usually need a large 3 ring binder and pens. Most also use index cards. You should get your books prior to the beginning of class. Your instructor will tell you if anything else is needed.
Your learning begins on the first day so come prepared. This class is fast paced so plan on studying a lot. Good luck

Actually I am an instructor :) I am not sure how Southtowns runs. If your clinical days are Mon/Tues your clinical at the facility would start 1/7. If your clinical is Wed/Thurs....it would start the 2nd. Either way you will have class on the 2nd.
