What to say?

What do you say? I accepted an offer but another offer came up weeks later while waiting for physical exam and background check to clear?

I would like to make a phone call rather than email. I could make it easy and notify Personnel but I think it would be also appropriate to talk directly to the supervisor as well.

I'm just a little lost for words... not sure what to say?

"I am sorry for the inconvenience but I have been offered a position at another company and I cannot ignore the opportunities provided there. I hope you understand and I want to thank you for your time and consideration and pray that we may do business in the future."

If you wanted to...

"I am willing to offer you the opportunity to match the competitive offer."

What the above poster said.

I had that happend. Right out of school I accepted a position. Then I got a job offer at the job I REALLY wanted. I called and said that I appreciate their offer, but I was also offered a job at a position that was a better fit for my goals. The hiring DON thanked me for calling right away and being honest- and to keep them in mind if I'm ever job searching in the future.
