What is your "Dreams" for the rest of your life!!

Good Morning Allnurses Community,

I wanted to post this thread, because it would be interesting to find out how our Nursing and Non-Nursing community would answer this question? What is your dreams for the rest of your life? Are you living out your dream? I thought this might help some of you get some true focus on how you would like to live out the rest of your life.

Specializes in LTC Family Practice.

win the lottery;) so I can spend the rest of my life healthy and in comfort. Love my dog, travel in a fancy camper of some sort during the "season" and spend my life back out west where I'm from, shooting the flora and fauna with my very expensive DSLR's (to be purchased after I win:D), have a modest home base with large amount of acreage somewhere in Southern Oregon and a cabin on the coast. Do volunteer work with my therapy dog. Attend all the great Powwows and learn more about my tribal heritage.

Thats a great dream!!!

1. Stay healthy and well.

2. Stay married and for my husband to stay well also.

3. To have my kids do well in life, especially my youngest son who is mildly autistic. With a child

like this, thinking of the future can be very overwhelming.

4. To get out of debt and stay out of debt.

5. For my husband and I to sell our current house and find a permanent home near our children so we can get

ready for the GRANDkiddies!

6. To get my NP degree and practice as a NP in a military clinic perhaps. I just want a 9-5 job working no weekends or holidays!

7. To perhaps get to take a vacation one of these days! ;) (although with all of these goals, I doubt I may have time for many vacations).

8. To maybe write that book . . . ;)

Good Morning Allnurses Community,

What is your dreams for the rest of your life?

My dream is to find a job as a new graduate nurse. I'm afraid I'll lose all of my skills if I don't get a job soon.

Specializes in acute rehab, med surg, LTC, peds, home c.

I have several dreams, don't really know which ones I'll get to. First, I'd like to get my masters and be a family np, then maybe do some travel nursing around the country with my husband and dog, once the kids are out on their own. We could live in a camper and see all the national parks. After that maybe join the Peace Corps and do some community health work in some 3rd world countries. Maybe come home after that and give a home to a couple of foster kids, and at some point in all of this, maybe write an autobiography about it all.

I am already 38, I better get started.

Anything is possible you will get there.
