Just curious as to what everyone needs for their nursing program. Right now I'm going to Long Island University in NY, a private university for my BSN.

Biology - Life: It's Origin, Maintenace & Future I & II

Anatomy & Physiology

Microbiology

General Chemistry

Intro to Organic & Biochemistry

Developmental Psychology I & II

Statistics or Statistics in Psychology

HESI A2 Vocab, Grammar, Reading Comprehension and Math.

Prior to first Nursing labs/clinicals:

CPR Certification

OSHA Mandatories

Medical Insurance Coverage

Georgia State University:

Math Modeling or College Algebra

Chem + Lab 1&2 OR Biology + Lab 1&2 OR Physics + Lab 1&2

Anatomy and Physiology + Lab 1&2

Microbiology and Public Health

Microbiology Lab

Minimum 2.8 GPA

Specializes in Medical Surgical-Oncology.

Developmental Psychology, Sociology, Chemistry w/ lab, Microbiology w/lab,Anatomy & Physiology I and II (both with lab), English I and II, and college algebra...but it really varies depending what school you're applying to. Hope this helps and Good luck!

One year ABSN 62 nursing credits and the two year ABSN 68 nursing credits. The ABSN Nursing degree program must meet the following requirements:

  • An earned baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • An undergraduate Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
  • Completion of the following on a college level with a minimum grade of B:
    • *Human Anatomy and Physiology (8 credits, with lab)*
    • *General Chemistry (4 credits, with lab) - Note: Introductory Chemistry is not accepted*
    • *Microbiology (4 credits, with lab)*
    • Statistics (3 credits) - course must include inferential and descriptive statistics
    • Microeconomics or Macroeconomics (3 credits)
      • (Required pre-requisite for 1 year program; taken as co-requisite for 2 year program only)
