What path should I take?

Hi! I received a scholarship to take a CNA/HHA course and loved it. I just graduated from that course and am looking to further my education. My ultimate goal is to work in a children's hospital such as Arnold Palmer. I don't have my AA yet but have some of the gen ed classes done. I have heard that you have to have your AA in order to be in an RN program but not sure if that's correct. Would it be smart to go for LPN while taking college classes for my AA and THEN RN or can I go right into RN nursing school with out my AA or while working on my AA?

You have choices. You can become an LPN and then bridge to a BSN or do an ASN and then bridge to a BSN or complete the prerequisites and go straight to a BSN program.

You can do an associate's degree in nursing (ADN/ASN) program, which would allow you to take the RN exam (NCLEX). If you wanted to pursue your bachelor's degree, you could bridge to BSN from there. If you know for sure you want to be an RN, skip the LPN if you can avoid it. It'll just take longer in the end, and end up costing you more.

Regardless, no AA needed. :)
