Without a doubt, we are all great nurses, whether it be BSN, ADN or Diploma.
My question for all of you is "What is your passion"? What non-nursing dream sets you apart from the nurse next door. None of us are one dimensional.
Researchrabbit and delirium are to be seen in the future on the New York Times Best Sellers List...
Where do you see your secret dream taking you in the future????

My dream life: Owning a coffee shop/ bakery with good live music at night and a little corner where I can sell things I make, like stained glass christmas tree ornaments. It would be open late and be close to my house. ***sigh*** maybe someday.

Horseback riding. On the trails in the woods on a warm spring afternoon. Yeah.
The above fantasy includes my own horse, with my own horse property.

I love to crochet and decorate. Had I not become an RN I probably would have got an interior design degree, but I figured I would have to bust my butt to make a steady income. I would love to be the next Martha Stewart of course without all the tabloid drama:) What would be better than getting paid to do arts and crafts, event planning, etc!

While we are on the subject:
Fly-Fishing is my passion. After being laid off from Hewlett-Packard in Jan 2002, I spent the remainder of the year fishing and living out of my mini-van.
Paid for fishing by tying and selling flies, and doing various guide trips.
Best day of year:
- Woke up at 5:00AM on Sunday, Sept 8th, 2002 in West Yellowstone, MT. Go into Yellowstone Park. I am the only one on the road - the sun is just comming up - about 55 degrees outside.
- I am driving along, and see a bald eagle crash into stream (Madison River) and grab a trout.
- Bald eagle comes out to road (2 lane road into park) and flies
along the center line - about 8 feet above the road surface.
- So I decide to "pace" the eagle. Followed the eagle for about 10 minutes or so - until it finally verred up and off to it's nest. Was just totally awesome feeling getting to see this.
---------
- Well, I get to the Yellowstone River - over by Fishing Bridge. Get rigged up and all. Wade out into river and am having an utterly incredible day on the water. Caught & Released about 15 cutthroats.
- Well, all of the sudden, I hear cars honking and etc. See where cars are all backed up along highway. It was around noonish or so. So lots more traffic. Figured some elk or bison were crossing the road.
- But NO!!!!
- While standing out in the middle of the Yellowstone - about 50 yards from shore....
A mother grizzly and her cub (about as big as she was) rambled out of the woods and down to the water for a drink. I mean here I was out in the river just watching these two bears just having a good old time.
After about 10 min the bears rambled back into the woods.
------------
- This my friends, is why I want to get into nursing. Am hoping to someday (yeah, I know it will take a lot of work to get there) do the travling nursing thing - where I can take whole summers off and do what I want to do.
- Unfortunately, can't do that in the computer field.

Can I make the tea and coffee in your shop, Heather? And keep the tables cleared away. And I PROMISE I won't let ANY kitties in, Heather!!!
What "pop" are you listening for, BTW?
