Hello,

You can remove Physician Assistant (not Physician's Assistant;)) from your list, for it is not a requirement to be a nurse before becoming a PA. Here is a thread about the PA: Differences (Educative/Clinical) between NP & PA

If you are wanting to become an advanced practice nurse, you can also add, Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). Here is an interesting thread on that: Different roles for CNS's??? Come on guys share what you do!

You can further narrow down the list if you have no desire to be the primary care giver for the OB (midwife). But, if you are interested, click CMN for this forum.

If you wish to become a CRNA, visit these forums and view the sticky thread, ** Read First: How to Become a CRNA FAQ ** ,to get a better idea about that nursing career choice.

What exactly interests you about any one of the APN specialty areas?

SirI--Hi!:heartbeat

At first my main goal was a CRNA..but now that I read more about it I am not sure that that would be a good decision for me as I would like more or less flexible hours when I start a family.

I know I want to go for my Master's...because I love school and want to continue my education as much as possible.

As of now, I just graduated with a BA in Psychology and am now going to be taking prerequisite classes..and try to get into a BSN program (well or ADN) to get my RN.

I am sure that I want to become a nurse 100% and am very excited to begin the journey.

I just don't feel at ease not having a DEFINITE plan. So I would like to at least have a slight idea of what I want and go TOWARDS that.

Perhaps I will have a better understanding when I already become an RN and work at a hospital...

As of now, I want to at least volunteer at a hospital..no one is calling me back though!:sniff:

Sounds like a good plan you have. Once you graduate and work as an RN, you will get a better feel for the profession and will be better able to see where your interests lie.

I would suggest going for your BSN, then go for your MSN and enter an APN program.

You are doing fine asking questions and researching your options.

I wish you luck with your nursing career goals.
