What are other options for LPN to RN (ADN) besides College network & RUE?

Published

I have completed most of the core but can't do the classroom right now. Considering college network but expensive. Can I do it another way?

Search college network on this site, you will find ALOT of posts about it -- most not good! College network and RUE are NOT schools. They are publishing companies, you will spend much much more money than you need to, and you will be stuck in a contract that you cannot break. My 2cents: Go direct to Excelsior:

College Network & Rue ARE NOT LEARNING INSTITUTIONS!!! They are just "study assistants" that aid you in your quest to get your RN through EXCELSIOR. Excelsior is a real brick and mortar school in Albany, NY and you DO NOT NEED College Network, Rue, or any other assistant to get you through the program. I made that mistake and am still paying Rue for services I do not need! Just keep reading AllNurses Distance Learning page, and the permanent Excelsior thread and you will figure it out. Better yet, call Excelsior directly and speak with one of their counselors. They are accessible and helpful.

Good luck and WELCOME:yeah: to AllNurses!

As previously state college network and rue are not learning institutions. They are publishing companies that provide study resources which are not instrumental to the completion of any courses.

The two well known distance learning programs that are LPN to RN are Indiana State University and Excelsior. You should search and read information on each program and see if one of them will suit your needs. Keep in mind both programs are not accepted in all states.

Please don't go through College Network. You don't need their material just the required books from the EC content guides and your brain.
