I am not yet an LVN but will be in August. I am looking at moving from my current location and am undescided on where I should land. The LVN to RN articulation program is important to me and I want to be well educated and live in a great area. Any help would be appreciated.

Where in TX are you? Do u want to live in a city (ie Dallas, Ft Worth, Houston, San Antino) or something smaller (Abilene, Wichita Falls, Midland, Odessa)

You might try posting in the Texas forum for more responses.

Good luck!

I would try to post it in the Texas forum but I am kind of eliterate when it comes to this stuff...still very new at it. I will give it the old varsity try though. thanks for the responses. The question about wether I would rather live in a city ie..Dallas Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio or a smaller city is not at all descided. Right now I am really considering all avenues the Lord has for me and my wife to be...so in other words it really doesn't matter. The education aspect is very important to me as far as I want to be well educated when I leave the university I go to, so I can say that it isn't time wasted like I feel my past educational experiences have been. Any input on what you have heard about the curriculums or any experiences people have had would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Tarleton State University (located in Stephenville) has a good, affordable LVN-to-BSN program once you establish Texas residency for 1 year and work as an LVN for at least 1 year full-time.

NCTC (North Central Texas College) has an accredited, affordable and good LVN-to-RN program. They are located in Gainesville.

Angelo State University, located in San Angelo, has a good, accredited LVN-to-RN program. Good luck to you.

San Antonio programs:

Try the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio for a 4yr RN - they have a great transitional program. For 2yr, try St. Philip's College or San Antonio College. I attended St. Philip's for my LVN and once I started working, came to find out that I not only knew more than my co-workers who attended private schools but also had a better curriculum overall. I'm a believer in community college!

Good luck and God bless your journey.
