I graduated in 99 from highschool, went to a community college starting in 8/2000. I was taking general classes but goofed off big time! Dropped classes, failed classes, you name it.......fast forward 11 years and here I am with 3 kiddos (ages 6, 5 and 15 months) and my dream is to be a nurse. More specifically a CRNA but just to be an RN right now would be fantastic and a dream come true! I'm 29 going to be 30 in August and I've barely finished my pre-reqs to even apply to nursing school. And to top it off, they arn't the best of grades either ( C's in AP 1 & 2 and Chem) and I started taking some of them so long ago, some of them expire under the 5 year rule this spring semester. I'm wondering if I should just rethink applying this year because my chances are slim to none with these grades and retake them then hopefully be able to apply next spring. I just hate to think I will be 30 applying to nursing school when I could of done this soooooo long ago if I would of just had my head on straight! I just want to cry! I feel like I'm never going to get into a school anywhere, I'm never going to get a degree, I'm never going to become a nurse and I'm never going to have a home to call my own because I screwed up so much in school.
Thanks for letting me vent
just wanted to let u know that no u are not too old to go to nursing schhol. Actually in my class we have a few 30 and 40 year olds and a 52 year old and you know what. they all had the same problem. There problem was that they were waiting until there kids were old enough. So you can do it. Don't worry bout what no one else thinks of you. If I could do it you can do it. You'll be just fine. believe me. And actually your only gonna be 30. Thnik about it this way, people that age usually are deciding there careers and starting to settle down. Your gonna be fine!!!

aww well I also graduated in 99 and have two kiddos and am in a BSN program as we speak.. Its tough with kids no matter ur I think
most of my classmates are single twnty yr olds taht live at home and they are really all very nice but sometimes i do feel out of place. Thats just me though and many programs arent really like that, I mean as far as the age. I've heard many schools have a lot of age diversity. You can do anything if you set your mind for it.
