What does it mean "Needed Areas of Remediation" on the NET?

Published

Ok, so I took my NET for the fourth time and here's my scores : Math 100%, Science Reading 85%, Composite percentage 93% (those three scores are what my school considers) On the back of my results page it says "Needed Areas of Remediation" underneath it says Essential Math Skills. What does this mean? Has it ever happened to you? Is it bad?

thanks in advance :)

Well, if you need remediation it means that you need to learn basic skills. It means you need to learn arithmetic, although why that would show up if you got 100% on that section is beyond me.

yes, that's exactly what I thought! really weird :uhoh3:

That is strange. It just doesn't make sense. Maybe if you talk to a academic counselor they would have more information.

Hi everyone! I'm new here. Ok your score is awesome and that doesn't make sense to me. I agree ask about it. How did you study? Im fine with the math, but the science reading part, not so good. I have trouble with time. I will be taking it for the second time in August. So nervous really want to get in for spring! Thanks

I also got 100% on the math and received the exact same statement on the back.

I still haven't figured it out.

I also had trouble with the reading, that's the reason i took it four times. The way I studied was by doing the practice tests from the NET study guide book. This last time I decided to purchased the online practice test from ERIworld.com. You have it available for 30 days. It is just one test, meaning you get the same exact test every time. But i did it over and over again changing the answers I think I did wrong and so on, until I got a better score and tried to understand why that particular answer was right. They don't give you the answers, so is kind of annoying trying to figure out which questions are wrong, but I think overall it was helpful.

I also googled reading passages with questions about main idea, inferences, etc. I did that along with reading articles online and timing myself. The time given on the test was really an issue for me.

I wish you the best!! I'm also trying to get in for Spring.
