I just use a traditional jansport backpack, one of the larger ones. It has two large main compartments that I use for clean and dirty, as well as other compartments that I keep certain stuff in. So far, it has done the trick. I have planned to get a regular bag for some time, but don't really find it necessary as I do not do intermittent visits and don't carry most of the day to day wound care type of supplies.
I have this one from Nursemates in black.

I rather like it but bear in mind I'm only carrying equipment for one patient. I keep travel packs of Clorox wipes/Hand Sanitizer Wipes and Facial Cleaning Wipes in one of the side pockets and a tub of flushable wipes in the other side. In the front I keep my nursing notes and vitals equipment and other things like sanitizer and alcohol wipes
Inside the main part of the bag I keep my personal stuff like books and lunch. I only see one patient so my system might not work for you and I clean everything when I'm done. Usually as I'm putting them back in the bag.

This is the one that was provided to me when I started. Works great, but tends to not have a whole lot of room if you have to stock up extra supplies.

Love, love, love my bag. It was worth every penny.
Also keep a car stock box that I got from Dollar General for about $5, the kind that's supposed to go under a bed. Then have 2 file boxes--1 for extra forms and stuff, the other for patient teaching materials; one more box for biohazard waste; hard-sided cooler for specimen transport with biohazard sticker on it.

That is a WONDERFUL idea!! I may have to look into something like that for my extra supplies. :-)
I have used my bag now for the last 3 years and it has stood up well, still looks good, has room for clean and dirty, and still room for supplies as well-I even have another pocket to carry my laptop-truly an all in one for home care! You can see it at the following link...:redbeathe

I start on Monday. Yeah! And I've tried to become as well prepared as I can. I purchased books recommended on here and everything. I do have a question about what everyone carries their supplies in? Can anyone give me any ideas? Any websites? Thank you!
