What do you keep in your nursing bag??

Hi All! I'm a new RN and just wondering what everyone keeps stocked/takes in their bag/backpack everyday. During class/clinicals, I took textbooks, med book, etc... Thanks in advance for help!! :D

If nothing else, food. And more food.

Been a nurse for over 3 decades, do many specialties, see ID above. I carry: medicine reference, EKG reference, quick facts for ER, Assessment, ACLS, Peds(not a REAL Peds nurse and often get them in ER), healthy high protein high energy snacks, crystal lite to put in water bottle, one liter water bottle, tea bags, advil, tourniquet, personal hygiene necessities, unbrella, stethoscope, agency time slips, braden scale sheet, heparin protocol sheet, and any other things that may be useful.

I also Carrie numerous references on my PDA, I have a Binder that I have put different reference material. articles that i have colleted, I have my stethoscope, my crystal Lite packets for my water... I have a case in my car and bring 2 or three into work, extra pens, my pen light, scissor, Deodorant, tooth paste, toothbrush moist towellets, all my otc's Advil, Tylenol, benedryl, acid reducers, prescription meds, I also have an extra change of scrubs and personables in my car, a good novel to read,

supplies: pens, pens and more pens. highlighter (blue and yellow), pencils, pink pearle eraser (my love!), sharpie, ID, stethescope, calipers, bandage scissors, resources (i usually have ekg book and med book at least), white out, tape, alcohol swabs, calculator, pen light, ruler, post its, clipboard (with info on heart alert, dialysis meds and ekg stuff on it)...

other stuff: kleenex, MEDS (aspirin, tylenol, iburprofen, excedrin & multivitamin), eye drops, tampons, floss, toothbrush & paste, nail file, cold medicine, bandaids, hand sanitizer, loose change, photo book (pics of my daughter!), cash, cell phone, FOOD and more FOOD, crystal lite/snapple packets ohh and SWEATSHIRT (because the women I work with are all in menopause and have hot flashes constantly.. i'm outnumbered so i layer!)
