Business casual. Black pants and a blouse or sweater or a dress. I ALWAYS wear flats and keep my hair pulled back for nursing interviews. It might be silly but I think it makes me look like I'm ready to run and work just like a nurse has to do!
Thanks! I know exactly what outfit I'm going to wear now. :)
Sorry if my wording was unclear. I meant I would be arriving at the interview in a suit (better to lean on the professional side and be overdressed rather than underdressed---totally agree with not going in scrubs), but that I would have a change of scrubs and clinical shoes with me, as sometimes share time is offered on the floor after the interview.
The recruiter that I spoke to told me I would interview with nurse recruitment, then the nurse manager of the unit, then do share time last. So for the two interviews, I would be in a suit, and for the share time afterward, I would be in scrubs. This falls in line with my nursing school's suggestion of interviewing in business attire, but having scrubs in case some exposure time to the floor is offered as well.
I always wear a suit. You can even buy an inexpensive blazer/pant set at Kohls for very little money. I got mine on clearance at Macys for $100. I also wear a button down shirt and plain black Danskos.
I think if it's an interview for nursing school, business casual is OK, but job interviews always get a suit!

I have an interview at a hospital in a week. I was wondering what I should wear to the interview. Sometimes I wear scrubs to interviews & other times I wear a dress suit. What do you think I should wear?
