First, I wouldn't give out my full name as you did. This site is supposed to be anonymous. Also, the best you can do is speak with a counselor at your said college. They are the one's who can advise you. I highly doubt others here will know what's best for you.

Your first couple of years in college will be prereqs. Once you get close to completing those you will apply to the nursing program which takes 2 years after that to complete. A word of advice, work your butt off in the prereqs. Many kids go into their freshman year at college thinking they can slack like in high school and then have a low GPA and can't get into nursing school. They all come in here and ask what do I do? I didn't apply myself and now my 2.4 GPA won't get me into nursing school. Don't screw yourself right off the bat. Nursing school is extremely competitive and only the best get in. Be one of the ones who get in.

I was not implying that they dominate the field, I was simply making a comment that those few who are brave enough to try their hand at nursing deserve to be commended. I was not making any type of comment about the ability of female nurses (who in my opinion are awesome) I was simply commending those male nurses who have made it in a role which is predominantly operated by women. Isn't that what the entire idea of feminism was about? Crossing boundaries in a world which is run by men? Whats wrong with giving men a little credit for trying to blur the lines of gender inequality which the feminists have been trying to blur for years now. I absolutely meant no offense by my statement. I posted in this form because I had just joined up and I didn't know what form to post under and I was kindly directed to the correct form. Since it's a program you have to be accepted into, you apply directly into that program once your prerequisites are met (you can find the prerequisites in the college catalog for the year you will begin attending school and this will give you an idea of what you will need to do before applying to the department). In the meanwhile, you can just be undeclared. Good luck!

Each school is different. Talk to the advisor at the school. They should be able to clarify things up.
