I am just finishing up my RN and am looking at all my educational options. I am really interested in RNA. Can someone please tell me how to go about it? Does anyone know if there is a school in Arizona?

There is tons of info on this website and others on what you need to do to become a CRNA. Do a search to find old threads, and also check out the AANA website. Doing these things will provide you with all of the information you need. There is one school in Arizona (Glendale), called Midwestern. Good luck.

Thanks for all the information:redbeathe

For what it's worth, here are the steps to becoming a CRNA:

1. Get your BSN (make sure you keep a cumulative and science GPA of 3.0 or better (it's best if you can keep it above a 3.4)

2. Get 1-2 years experience as an ICU nurse (you'll need to work in med/surge, most likely, for at least a year before they'll let you in the ICU).

3. Take the GRE (Graduate Record Exam) - it's required for entrance into 90% of crna schools. Make sure you score better than 1,000 combined score.

4. Apply to several crna schools

5. Graduate 2-3 years later with a master's degree, specialization in Nurse Anesthesia, then take the Certification Exam and become a crna!

Midwestern University

is the only crna program in Arizona.

Sorry about that... I though the html code would create a link...

You can make it into the ICU without any experience in Medical/Surgical nursing. Believe me :) and good luck!
