I use to volunteer in the OR when I was in nursing school and loved it. There was little for me to do so I got to watch surgeries the whole time. It was a great experience!

I was the only one in my class that was working as a CNA during nursing school and I had a big advantage over everyone. I remember being in a pts room with the girl that was top of my class. We had to turn him over and she looked at me all freaked out because she didn't know how to do it. She had no hands on experiance. I was proud to show her how, so I say yes get your CNA and work it, even if it is only one day a week in a nursing home you will gain a lot of skills.

I just want to say that I am a LPN and could never get my job done with out my CNA's. They help me out so much and I appreciate the work they do because it is hard, back breaking work that deserves more recognition and pay. I could not do a CNAs job as well as them, sometimes I am afraid to help my girls out because they might show me up:lol2: I have even been taught a thing or two from them. So thanks to all the CNA's out there, we could never do it with out you.

I am going to EC through College Network and LOVE IT. College Network is great, the web site is easy to use and they even print out the book and send it to you if you ask for it (I recomend this) for free. You do it in your own time and can take as long as you need before you take your exam. They also provide a lot of support. They even have financing that is not credit based. My counselor was great so if you do decide to enroll I can get you his contact information. He can answer all your questions. He even helped me several times after I enrolled. I have talked to several RNs who have graduated through EC and said they couldn't have done it any other way. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any question

I am just finishing up my RN and am looking at all my educational options. I am really interested in RNA. Can someone please tell me how to go about it? Does anyone know if there is a school in Arizona?

well i don't know what your book says, but i use to be a wound nurse in a nursing home and i never used sterile gloves just clean gloves for wet to dry. i also opened a sterile container of gauze and wet it by pouring saline (the individual packs) into the container, but reality is that most facilities do not want to pay for the sterile gauze. in that case i would make a sterile field to work with. i am just telling you how i did it in the real world but for school make sure you follow the protocol from your book.

Max I just started the LPN-RN program through EC too. I am about to take my first test for Life Span Development in about two weeks and have started studying for my A&P. I have a 5 month old daughter who takes up most my time so I only get to study in short periods of time. Finding the time is hard for me but I LOVE the program. I feel like I am really learning and am excited about the program. I wish you good luck, just take it one day at a time.
