What happened to the EC student who...

Went to take his/her CPNE only to find out it was cancelled due to Katrina? Sorry I can't remember this person's name but I was just wondering if they got a chance to take the CPNE and how they made out.

RN34TX

Has 17 years experience.

It was LPNtoRN.

She got cancelled in Amarillo due to hurricane Rita, not Katrina (that one still doesn't make any sense to me considering Amarillo is about as far away from the Texas coastline as you can get and still be in Texas.)

But anyway, she passed the CPNE in Columbus, Ohio in early November I believe.

It blew my mind as well. Talk about a low blow. medictoRN was also in the group that was cancelled from Amarillo that weekend.

When I asked them WHY Amarillo when it was way up in the panhandle, and Plano (which saw many more evacuees) was NOT cancelled, they told me that the company that owns a hospital in Houston also owned the hospital in Amarillo and Amarillo automatically followed the policy of the Houston hospital...or something. Whatever, it wasn't a good excuse to me. Gets me on a tirade just thinking about it. Talk about a major let down!
