I am attending Ivy Tech right now and i have just finished all of my pre- nursing classes but i am thinking about transferring to Medtech.. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Its all about how you approach your education. No med tech isn't the greatest nor do they give you everything on a silver platter. I am an LPN who recently graduated from med tech a few months ago. I worked my tail off to get that license which sometimes meant that I had to form study groups with my fellow students to pass all my tests. But I made it,I passed my test on the first try and while I was in clinicals I volunteered to do things that weren't taught to me in the class room like g tubes and trach care. I have been working at my current job since I got my license and do not feel like I've fallen behind or that I don't have the skills to perform my job safely. I feel quite the opposite. With MTC its all about how willing you are to go the extra mile and work for what you want because nothing is handed to you there and not all the instructors have the proper knowledge to teach you all that you need to know.
started at Med Tech back in 2008, they said back then there working an getting accredited and they still are not. worried that Med Tech would not get accredited i dropped out and went to school in Michigan. Thats is when the fun started. Med Tech billed me for books, and classes that i never had. I asked why and what i was being billed for and they would not help me. Then Med tech sent it to collection and it ruined my credit. I wish i never walked in the door.
