What field or specialty of nursing?

just curious what field of nursing we all hope to work in one day? or what field we are interested to start out in?

for myself someday i think i would like to work in labor&delivery, but first i want to start out in med-surg. i want some experience and a chance to work on the skills i learn before thinking of l&d.

All things going well, I'd like to work as a research nurse, a nurse epidemiologist, or in the field of public health.

i am keeping my options open until i finish all of my clinicals. i work in the ed right now and i really enjoy that, but we'll see what happens. i'm looking forward to my ob, maternity, and psych clinicals.

I'm hoping for an ER position because I have been volunteering in one for the last 14 months and love the chaotic environment. Something new everyday so the work doesn't get too boring.

labor & delivery

my whole reason for wanting to be a nurse started with the birth of my son. i just finished up ob this summer and i loved l&d! (even though my clinical instructor put me through h*ll--- she didn't break my spirit!)

i want to work med-surg for at least a year though to get the experience. i start med-surg in about a month so that thought may change.
