Nurses General Nursing

I was seeking more info on what exactly a role of a LPN Health&Wellness director is....

What do they do in a Indep. Living Facility?

Any feedbacks would be greatly appreciated. I feel as if I would be qualified for this position but then again it'll be a 1st

thanks every1!

Sounds like a title for nurse of all trades. Meds, assessment, woundcare, handholding, sympathetic shoulder to cry on....

And don't forget there will be "other related duties"

Specializes in long term care, school nursing.

My facility has different levels of care such as independent living, personal care, dementia care, and health care center. We do not have a wellness director for the independent living, but if we did, I would think that this person would monitor BP for the residents, guide them with medical questions, and assist with some procedures such as minor skin care and eye drops. Our independent living folks come to our side of the building if they need some assistance or have a question. They use their call system for emergencies. I hope this helps you.

Thank you ...the answers do help. I remember during the phone convo with the DON she did mention supervising 12beds/2employees.

The Health and wellness director at an AL facility I worked at supervised the care associates, meds, set up wellness clinics for bp, bs checks etc. She worked M-F, w/e and holidays off and didn't know her butt from a hole in the ground. She was also to do all tb shots for new hires but was never around so of course they would all come back to the al part and that was my job. Bitter?? Just a little...LOL
