What is everyone doing to further their education while waiting to get into an RN program?

I am going on my third year of not getting into any RN programs. I got an associates in biology and have taken my general education classes for a bachelors degree at my local CSU. I took a semester off from school and now I don't know what to do from here. I'm considering pursuing a bachelors in public health-health administration which I can complete in 1.5 years. I would have loved to have continued with biology, however it would take me about 3 years (essentially I'd be starting over.) What is everyone else doing or pursuing while they wait for their acceptance into a program?

Hey ? got denied but gonna apply for the Fall of 2022 , I'm retaking some courses they start in like 4-5 more weeks, I actually got done writing a semester worth of notes, I went over what I didn't get in micro and I feel much sharper at it. I'm also considering public health as a back up but for the most part I'm just adopting a healthier mindset , I may pursue the CNA pathway in the Spring (not too sure on that yet). Heck , if covid gets under control I may travel.

Love it. I'm slipping into a negative mindset. The CSU fall semester starts in August, but I am dreading it because I don't know what to do. I am really not excited about a public health degree (plus it will use my financial aid I need for a future BSN). I aced all my prerequisites, but I am going to work on getting a better TEAS score in the next few months.

Try not too do it (it's easier said than done) but one thing I learned is that if your keep persevering something will come along. I know you can do it ?. Have you thought about taking time off to just study for the TEAS?

I honestly don't want to take any more time off because I will feel like I wasted a whole year.. I have time to study though ? Three years is just too much time passed. I wish I had pursued another degree, but I was not expecting this long of a wait. My mindset was always "not to start something else because you might get into the program next cycle and will have to stop" but that was not the case.

I wish you much luck ? again don't get down on yourself things will work out. Also did you use the mometrix book for your TEAS?

You as well! No, but I just recently bought the course that's on the ATI website. It looks pretty thorough.

Gonna try that tysm , I decided to spread out my searches for nursing school and thinking of taking the HESI as well as the TEAS but I'm a bit nervous. Forgot to add I was also thinking of taking some courses for when I pursue my bachelors as well.

I'm FT employed and in the nursing program. While I was waiting to be accepted, I took some classes at the upper level and worked.

Enjoy your school and time. It will come. When you're in, you'll miss your idle time. ?

Good luck to you all those who are waiting to apply.
