I had a pt the other night that they were running labs on for this and I asked around and no one had heard of it. I can figure out from its name it is a blood disorder that has to do with the eosinophils but what exactly is it? How does it affect the pt? What is the treatment? How common is it? My pt came in with ab. pain by the way. Colonoscopy showed colitis. Any information would be appreciated because as I said I am clueless of what this is.

Eosinophilia (increased eosinophils) can result from parasitic, allergic, or inflamatory responses.
