What Do I Do Now?

Published

Hello. I'm 22 years old, I graduated around December 10th with my BSN in Nursing. I took the NCLEX February 15th, and I just found out I failed. I went to Continental Testing and it showed me "Fail" under my grade. I don't know what to do now that I failed the first time. I took 84-ish questions before it shut off. I felt pretty good about it. But honestly, I don't know what to do now. What do I do now that I failed NCLEX? I know I have to wait 45 days. But when can I register again? What are the steps. What do I do? I feel so lost. I can't stop crying, haha. Please, any comments or help, I would severely appreciate.

Thank you.

I think you should do absolutely nothing until you calm down and are able to focus. Re-registering for the NCLEX is no different from registering for the first time. Some states, if not all, require a repeat of the criminal background check as well. By the tone of your posts, you definitely need to step back and take a breather before you make a move to do anything. I know you're disappointed...been there, done that at my very first attempt it years ago. If you go rushing full-speed as soon as you get the green light, the quality of your preparation is going to suffer and you'll be failing your second attempt. The worst is over. Take a couple of weeks, at least, to get over it before beginning again.

Good luck on your next and hopefully, final attempt.

I think you're right. I'm becoming too scattered and too worried about the next exam. I'm going to take a step back, make a study plan, and prepare more readily. Thank you so much for this kind comment.

Sorry to hear that - but get knocked down 7 times, stand up 8 - it's a crapper to fail anything, but it doesn't define you. So you failed...re-study, re-apply, and off you go. If you pass...great! Fail again - stand back up and repeat above steps.

Good luck to you!
