What are the differences between Higher and Lower type questions on NCLEX

Published

Can someone tell me the differnece between Higher and Lower type questions on the Nclex. I hear a lot of talk about that. I heard that Math questions are lower type questions and if you didn't have any of those you did okay. I couldn't really dercern between the questions as to if they were harder or easier. Just wondering if anyone can give me any insight to these.

Thanks bunches

Thanks for the replies! I couldn't figure it out, I guess my brain is fried from studying!

Earlier in this thread Suzanne summed it up pretty good. SATA questions are not necessarily the upper level questions. Question type does not indicate whether higher end or lower end questions. My co-worker got 2 math questions that even our pharmacist said were really tough. So even a math can be a high end question.:D

i agree that SATA doesnt necessarily mean hard question, coz based on the satas that i got its more on recall rather than analysis (which I think are considered hard questions. I got like 10 satas, and they are more of the sign and symtoms, and the dos and donts of infection control which i think are quite easy coz its a recall question, what makes it hard is what to tick and not to tick, coz its all or nothing... but if you know by heart all the sign and symptoms of the maj diseases ( such as COPD, parkinsons, cushings, addisons, hyper, hypothyroidism) SATA is an easy one for you...

i just got my result 3 days ago, it took CA BON 4 wks!!! but its all worth the wait!!! I passed with 75 Q!!!:bow::bow:Thank GOD!:bow::bow:

i think prioritization and delegation are more of the hard questions ((practice with LaCharity! It really helped me alot! ))rather than sata and computation. i got 2 computation both mcg/lb/min convert to ml/hr! easy right!!! :typing
