So does anyone have any suggestions of things to do the day before the NCLEX? Foods to eat, activities? I keep hearing to NOT study the day before.....do you recommend this? I am going to get a massage the day before for sure, but what else? Also what kind of breakfast do you suggest? I test at 11:00am. I planned on getting up at 8:00 have a cup of coffee at coffee shop near the testing site, look over some last minute material....and then go in......any thoughts, suggestions, tips would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thanks!

I recommend putting away everything by 3 pm on the day before the final day. So if testing on Wednesday, stop everything by 3pm. Realistically it should be 12 noon, but hard to get people to listen to that.
Worst possible thing that you can do is to take the material with you to the exam site. When we say do not do anything, trying to review at the last minute can be the number one worst thing that you can do.
You have an 11am testing time, how is one cup of coffee going to keep you going until possibly 5pm in the afternoon. Eat what you normally eat, and I am sure that it is more than this. Eggs would be nice to get some protein in, remember that you need to feed your brain if nothing else. As well as some toast with it. No reason to carbo-load or you just get sleepy. But something balanced.
Go out to lunch, go to a movie, get a manicure or pedicure. It does not need to be just a massage.
But please, do not do what you were planning. And best of luck on your exam.
Ok...thank you for the tips. I wll NOT look at anything before the exam. I will stop everything by 12:00 noon on Tuesday. I will eat some eggs, 1/2 whole wheat bagel, and 1/2 bananna and a cup of coffee....then take a piece of fruit to snack on if I need a break during the test and of course a bottled water..... Suzzanne, what drugs can you recommed that I look over this weekend.....other than BP meds, insulin's? Any other suggestions? x AND do you think doing 300 questions a day until Tuesday is too many?
My daugther has her first dance class Tuesday night, so after my massage, we are going to dinner, and then her class...so it will be a nice relaxing evening.

Maybe you could spend some time practicing your relaxation techniques. I found that I was getting tensed up when I was sitting in front of the computer for my test. Relaxation techniques during the test help to break up a mind freeze. Deep breathing is calming.
