What credentials do you hold as a core measures abstractor?

Hi! I am just rediscovering this forum after a long time away. I am hoping everyone can shed some light on something for me. I have been doing Core Measure abstractions for 4 years now, and I am wondering what credentials all you CM abstractors are holding out there. I hear I am a minority w/ an LPN and nothing further. Is this true?

Hi Nurse_Jenni, I know this is a late reply but I just became a member and saw your question. I currently work at a hospital as a Quality Review Analyst and I abstract the core measures required for The Joint Commission and CMS. I currently hold the following credentials: LPN, RHIT, & CPC.

What is a core measure abstractor? What exactly do they do? I am a RN and I know what core measures are but I am not clear on what a core measure abstractor is.

I just started in this role. As my screen name states, I am a RHIA, RN. My actual title is Performance Improvement Data Analyst and I will have other duties but so far--- I have been abstracting core measures. We use Press Ganey software and are transitioning to monthly reports from quarterly.
