What is a CPA???

Published

I know a few people in ADN nursing programs and they have been talking about passing CPA's. I have no idea what those are and what their significance is. I am in a BSN program and we have nothing like that. I am just really curious!

Please enlighten me. :)

Not that hard to Google. They are possibly accountants in their previous career, maybe.

That's not it. Nursing is their first and only career pursuit. I did google it and couldn't find a clear answer. That's why I am asking on this forum. It's some kind of test I'm pretty sure.

I did a little research on google because I have never heard of that either. Clinical Performance Appraisal? Basically a document that evaluates your skills in clinical rotations.

Specializes in Pedi.

CPA is Certified Public Accountant. I've never heard it used in reference to nursing.

Specializes in Critical Care, ED, Cath lab, CTPAC,Trauma.

I think it is a Clinical Performance Appraisal....a skills test/evaluation. It's is a local term for that program and not a general term.

In Pennsylvania we have PCA's which are akin to CNA's but work mostly in acute care.
