What is considered the weekend shift for 7p-7a?

For nurses who work 12 hour nights, 7p-7a, and have a weekend obligation, what is considered the weekend? I'm sure Sat 7p to Sun morning 7a is considered the weekend, but is Friday 7p to Sat 7a, or Sun 7p-Mon 7a the other weekend shift?

If you are required to work that particular weekend, what do your hours look like?

ive worked 19 years noc shift. both 12 hour shifts and 8 hour shifts. Cant remember if there was anything written in employee handbooks about this. what all of my work asks for from weekend people is Friday night 7pm and saturday night 7pm. or 11pm friday and saturdays. some people argue that Sunday night is weekend. and its fair argument. but evidence shows that most noc people request for Sunday nights to work rather than friday nights. thats why we are mostly understaffed friday nights. then overstaffed sunday nights.
